To observe this total lunar eclipse, GLORIA has chosen the unique and historically important location surrounding the city of Cusco in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Peru. The Shelios Association (

) is responsible for the theoretical and practical aspects of the expedition (more information

), and will be coordinated and directed throughout by Dr. Miquel Serra-Ricart (Astronomer of the Institute of Astrophysics of Canary Islands and Teide Observatory Manager).
